Philanthropy Events
Our chapter raises thousands of dollars each year to benefit our national philanthropy, Service for Sight. At one of our yearly fundraising events, Anchor Splash, teams of students from various campus organizations compete in water activities at our Boilermaker Aquatic Center, each team coached by a Delta Gamma. Similar to Anchor Splash, we also hold a second annual event in the spring known as Anchor Slam where we put on a 3v3 basketball tournament with teams from different campus clubs and organizations in the Purdue Recreational Center. In addition to our two main events, we also participate in Slices for Sight, Hot Cocoa with DGs, and Nothing Bundt DG where we sell hot cocoa, slices of pizza, and Bundt cakes leading up to the day of our big event. These events not only raise money for our philanthropy, but also allow us to have fun with our sisters and other members of the Purdue community. Every year many of our sisters participate in the Vision Walk supporting Foundation Fighting Blindness. This takes place in Indianapolis and allows our sisters to meet others passionate about finding a cure for blindness.
Outside of our foundation, many sisters volunteer throughout the Purdue community and their own communities. A group of women travel to the local retirement home for Bingo and other activities. We collect box tops to benefit the local schools. Many women are involved with a variety of different service organizations throughout our community.
We participate in a many other Greek chapters' philanthropies, as well.
